Abstract.
I think abstract is about the different textures & lighting.
Abstract kind of reminds me of things that are displaced & just
random. It's stuff that exist but you cannot touch it , in art it's a picture
but you can't really explain what the picture is of.

The formal elements
Photographers are usually aware of the ways in which they can create interest in their images beyond the simple fact of the subject. This is what separates good pictures and bad pictures of the same thing. The following list describes some of the abstract elements in any photograph. Below the list is an example of how you can analyse a photograph looking for these things specifically and how this helps to give the image meaning:
Focus:
Light: Line: Repetition: Shape: Space: Texture: Value/Tone: |
Which areas appear clearest or sharpest in the photograph? Which do not?
Which areas of the photograph are brightest? Are there any shadows? Does the photograph allow you to guess the time of day? Is the light natural or artificial? Harsh or soft? Reflected or direct? Are there objects in the photograph that act as lines? Are they straight, curvy, thin, thick? Do the lines create direction in the photograph? Do they outline? Do the lines show movement or energy? Are there any objects, shapes or lines which repeat and create a pattern? Do you see geometric (straight edged) or organic (curvy) shapes? Which are they? Is there depth to the photograph or does it seem shallow? What creates this appearance? Are there important negative (empty) spaces in addition to positive (solid) spaces? Is there depth created by spatial illusions i.e. perspective? If you could touch the surface of the photograph how would it feel? How do the objects in the picture look like they would feel? Is there a range of tones from dark to light? Where is the darkest value? Where is the lightest? |
I took theses pictures based on 'Lines' I think i've reached the lines part of the task. However there not as abstract as they could be , I might edit them in photoshop so they look different. Although I could glitch some of them to make them look distinct.

Set 1
My first set of photos were on focus , I used the DLSR to get some things in focus and the rest out of focus.
Set 2
I took a set of photos to use for photo weaving , I then decided on 2 photos. The 2 photos I chose I had to measure every 2cm and number then 1-10. Once I numbered them I then had to cut them out , finally I weaved them in and out of each other.
WWW- In this weave I like the way the link is diagonal and going through the picture. I also thought I would use the locker picture as they are consistent. EBI-I could of maybe changed one of the pictures to black and white. Although I do like it how it is now. |
Experimenting :
This first photo I scanned on image capture , The second photo I edited with The last picture was edited
when I went onto image capture I scanned the iphoto , I had to flip it and i put with camera bag , I put another effect
photo and then dragged it onto the desktop. a effect on it. on it. On camera bag there is
Ive left it upside down to show you how it looks loads of effects to choose
when you open image capture. from.

I printed 2 photos , exactly the same but one colour and one white and black as you can see. I'm going to do it again but measure both on the pictures as you can see some selotape , i'm also going to do it in A3 and see how it comes out. With the border on this photo you can see white in the background aswell so I need to crop that out so its just blue not white.
